The REAL REASON we resist change. And it is NOT what you THINK

The brain operates with the energy conservation principle. That means it wants to go to any type of activity that doesn’t require much thinking or act

The brain operates with the energy conservation principle. That means it wants to go to any type of activity that doesn’t require much thinking or activity that can be performed on autopilot.

This is the reason why when we undergo a change we will encounter a resistance. The brain resists the amount of energy that will have to be expended in order to operate that change.

Additionally, the brain perceives change as threatening.

The bigger the change, the more the resistance because the brain likes what is familiar and change means that we will have to go outside of our comfort zone. And if we do that we will have to spend more energy. The brain will have to be on high alert in order to detect if there is any potential threat to our survival.
