What determines your worth? Is it how much money you have, how much material possessions, how much you have achieved?
A speaker begins his conference holding up a 100-euro note and asks the following question: “Who would like to have this bill?” Hands go up. So he says, “I’m going to give this 100-euro bill to one of you, but before, let me do something with it.” He suddenly crumples the bill and asks: “Do you still want it?” Hands continue to go up.
“Okay, but what if I do this?”
He throws the wrinkled note on the ground and jumps on it, crushing it as much as possible and covering it with dust. Then, he asks: “Who still wants this bill?” Obviously, hands continue to go up!
“My friends, you have just learned a lesson … No matter what I do with this note, you still want it because its value has not changed, it’s still worth 100 euros. Many times in life, you will be crumpled, rejected, stained by people or events, you will feel like you are worthless, but in reality your value has not changed in the eyes of the people that love you! ”
The value of a person is not conditioned by what they do or do not do. No matter your past, you can always start again from this moment on. It all starts with a decision. Decide to rise above your past and present circumstances. They do not define you. Decide to become the person that you are destined to become. That person lies dormant inside of you and is just awaiting you to wake her up. Life is short. Do something that makes you happy. You are the person you spend the most time with. Choose to become your best friend. Life is too short to be miserable.
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” – Tony Robbins
